On June 8th (HKT), the semifinals match between LMS and LPL ended in LPL's victory after a rollercoaster ride of games that lasted through 5 games. Although it wasn't an LCK match, Korean fans have watched the game in anticipation that sooned turned into craze starting from Game 3.
Here are the Korean reactions towards the semifinals of Rift Rivals Red.
Game 1 - J Team vs Team WE
Is this SoloQ?
I regret ordering a chicken dinner for this.
It looks like Team WE is forced to win this match.
LPL swings wet noodle at LMS... It's super effective!
This should have been over 5 minutes ago.
I dunno. This match feels more relatable than SKT matches.
Game 2 - Flash Wolves vs OMG
Karsa is great. If only he'd stop ganking mid against SKT...
Karsa is G O D L I K E
FW & WE: See guys? It's SKT that's too strong.
I thought FW was a goner after watching them crumble against SKT, but it was just SKT being SKT.
Is that really the best that LPL can do? lul
Xiyang must've felt like he was in ELO hell.
FW pressured OMG well from the start. I think OMG must have tilted, judging from how Jiekou missed Sonic Wave after ult.
Flash Wolves does it again. I think they can be one of top LCK teams if they come here.
- Their mid, jungler and support is top notch.
- Those three are really good, but the other two is solid too.
- I dunno about being a top team. Maybe middle of the pack?
- I'd say at least on Longzhu level. From what I can see they are good at macros, teamfight and skirmishes just like LCK teams.
- Did you hear that they are one of few teams that have positive win rate against Korean teams? It's not like they faced weaker Korean teams either.
Look at how LPL team rosters are like. After all good Korean imports have left, the teams are not the same. I think they are at their worst since Season 2.
Game 3 - ahq e-Sports club vs EDward Gaming
Mountain is finally back from the mountains
Is this NA vs EU? Why is it so heated?
We lost, you guys. There's no way LCK can be more entertaining than this.
Casters got tired of being angry and just gave up.
Caster: Oh the humanity! EDG has to win this one!
- Humanity lost
I don't think EDG wanted to win this match at all. Did anyone notice how An stood still and AAed because he thought he'd die... but EDG let him live anyways?
This match was worth watching in a way that's opposite of SKT vs WE. So many mistakes...
ahq was amazing. They didn't give up.
This match alone made Rift Rivals Red worth it.
I see a lawsuit coming up from Audi...
This is probably the most enjoyable match for this year. I can't believe the time passed so quickly.
I was amazed at how ahq can play like that even when they are behind.
Throwing is redefined for the second time today
Then this makes KT a...
Audi played terribly, but I feel sorry for him because he'll take the blame when everyone else played badly.
Game 4 - Machi 17 vs Royal Never Give Up
I'm pretty sure RNG considered making the match more interesting after that fiasco in Game 3.
I guess RNG will take this one pretty easily.
This match is a bit boring in comparison.
RNG puts out the fire.
Flash Wolves vs Team WE? I guess the match will be over in either 24 minutes or 25 minutes.
If FW wins, EDG might have to swim back home...
Game 5 - Flash Wolves vs Team WE
Karsa plays Zac!
Zac vs Galio...it's a match between two monsters.
Man, the match between 25-minute teams are great.
I feel for Taiwanese fans. I don't think I can watch this game without a heart attack if it was our match.
- Jhin doesn't fit well in this match at all. No chance for ult nor strong enough to take down Galio.
- It felt like the stadium became a library for a moment.
(When FW wins a teamfight to stop the game from ending) HOW
How is this possible?
That's why Zac is OP. He can come up with something even when far behind.
(Team WE wins anyway) Well, there's so much Jhin can do at the late game.
- Kog'Maw AA > Jhin ultimate's 4th shot
- This really makes Jhin look like trash.
Kog'Maw is insane.
I suppose it's LPL > LMS.
LCK is going to get some local love.
