On the 25th (KST), IG has released an official statement regarding the rumors of their Top laner, Kang ‘TheShy’ Seung-lok on their official Weibo.

On IG’s official statement, it said, “The recent rumors surrounding TheShy on various online communities have all been maliciously fabricated. Currently, such rumors are affecting the players’ reputation in a negative way.”

It continued that TheShy is still contracted with IG, and he himself firmly stated that he has no intentions of transferring to another team. Furthermore, the biggest reason he joined IG was because of the love he has for the team, and he did not even ask IG for a high salary for 2 years.

Finally, IG concluded, “Everyone knows how professional TheShy is, so we will be taking legal action to those that personally attack the player and spread rumors about him. All official news during the FA season will be coming from the team directly, so we ask the people to not believe in such nonsensical rumors.”

TheShy has joined IG in 2017, and with his steady prowess in the top lane, he helped the team to win the LoL World Championship (Worlds) in 2018. Ever since the FA season started after 2019 Worlds, many rumors about TheShy transferring to another team started to arise in various online communities, and has been under scrutiny.
