This morning, John Needham, Global Head of League of Legends Esports issued a statement regarding political messages during LoL esports broadcasts. 

"As we near this weekend's League of Legends World Championship Group Stage, I want to take a moment to speak clearly about how we approach sensitive topics on Riot's broadcasts."

Riot fans have made several comments on social media asking the company for a stance in the  #BoycottBlizzard case. 

Just last weekend of Hearthstone Grandmasters' regular season,  Hong Kong player Ng "blitzchung" Wai Chung appeared on the official Taiwanese Hearthstone stream for his post-game interview wearing a gas mask. Blitzchung shouted, in Chinese: "Liberate Hong Kong, revolution of our age!"

Blizzard removed the player from Grandmasters, banning him from Hearthstone competitions for one year. The player will also not be receiving his prize money for Grandmasters Season 2.

Blizzard's action has caused an uproar in the online gaming community. Players are uninstalling Battle.Net as well as supporting the #BoycottBlizzard movement, that includes not playing their games or consuming their products. Casters and talent have also dropped out of broadcast in disapproval of Blizzard's stance on the case.

Riot Games has responded to community speculation that had been getting traction on the League of Legends subreddit and Twitter of not allowing their casters to mention Hong Kong Attitude in their broadcasts, and instead, say HKA.
