After the eventful first week of LCK, we are only a few hours away from Week 2 of LCK. With the reverse exodus of Korean players to LCK and it being the first Champions League (by a few hours) to feature the new 10-ban system, the league drew a lot of attention from fans, players and analysts alike.

While the 10-ban system did not cause the metagame to turn upside-down, there were enough unexpected champion picks to prove that the new banning system has increased the champion diversity. With Ziggs (as ADC!), Singed, Katarina, Sion, Kled, Shyvana and Jax appearing in the matches, fans of those long-lost champions were elated.

So, let's briefly go over how well these unexpected but welcome champions have fared.

ADC Ziggs was a force to be reckoned in Solo Queue with his extremely strong lane push and fast tower kill capability. Unfortunately, while the fans' wish to see him in league matches has been granted, his record was less than stellar at 1-3 . The only player who won with Ziggs was SK Telecom T1's Joonsik "Bang" Bae.

Singed also made a welcome return to the top lane. After 822 days of waiting, Singed was picked 5 times during the first week of LCK and had a respectable record of 3-2. With strong split-push capability and presence in teamfights, Singed was not an easy champion to make counter-plays against. We are expecting him to appear more over the next few weeks.

Katarina, yet another solo-queue favorite that did not appear in LCK before, also found her way into the LCK by being picked three times during the first week and winning two games. It should also be noted that both of those victories were by Sanghyuk "Faker" Lee, who dominated the game with the same finesse that was shown in Solo Queue over the past few months. 

Other than those three, Sion, Kled, Shyvana and Jax also have appeared in LCK, but their performance left a lot to be desired. However, with many more weeks and matches to go, there should be many more champions that are waiting for their time to shine. What other unexpected champions will grace the Summoner's Rift in Week 2? We will find out soon enough.
