On September 4th, 2019, a Nintendo Direct live stream confirmed that Blizzard Entertainment flagship title Overwatch would be coming to the Nintendo Switch on October 15th, 2019. Players will be able to play online via the Nintendo Switch Online service, which is currently $3.99/month. In addition, starting September 5th, gamers who sign up for Nintendo Switch Online will have access to 20 Super Nintendo titles.

Overwatch was originally released on PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4 in May 2016. While the Switch port has been long rumored, leading all the way up to a report by Kotaku that corresponded with major retailer leaks.

Players who pre-order Overwatch for the Nintendo Switch will receive 3 months of free Nintendo Switch Online and 15 skins, including the Noire Widowmaker bonus skin. Players who purchase Overwatch for the Nintendo Switch before 2020 will receive an additional Golden Box that guarantees at least one Legendary item.
