According to a report by ESPN's Jacob Wolf, CEO of esports organization Sentinels Robert Moore has filed a lawsuit against Kroenke Sports & Entertainment on the claim that a purchase of LCS franchise Echo Fox would be in direct violation of a verbal agreement between himself and a Kroenke executive.
Sentinels was originally founded as Phoenix1 via purchase of Team Impulse's slot in the 2016 NA LCS Summer Split. P1 teamed up with Kroenke to apply for a franchised slot in the 2018 NA LCS, but were turned down.
Sentinels has done its best work in signing a slew of Fortnite talent, including 16-year old millionaire Fortnite World Cup Solos Champion Kyle "Bugha" Giersdorf. In addition, Sentinels are responsible for operating and managing Kroenke Sports & Entertainment Overwatch League franchise Los Angeles Gladiators. In doing so, Sentinels has assumed day-to-day responsibilities of Kroenke Sports & Entertainment subsidiary KSE Esports.
In addition to the Echo Fox proposal violating the alleged verbal agreement between Moore and Kroenke Sports & Entertainment, Moore stated that Kroenke had not always held up their side of the deal financially for the joint venture.
According to the report, Moore is seeking majority stake in KSE Esports as well as relief for all expenses incurred.
