Irvine, California – July 25, 2019 – Joycity releases a massive summer update with a major Samurai Shodown crossover.

Samurai Shodown’s Nakoruru makes a special guest appearance on Freestyle 2 through a partnership with SNK Corporation. Her style has been reinterpreted in the game as a Slash and Bust style of gameplay. Slash portrays the gentle nature of Nakoruru by focusing on defending against her opponents, while the Bust mode is the opposite where her abilities are focused more towards attacking the rim directly.

Every player in the game can obtain Nakoruru by completing the ‘Awaken Fate’s Maiden Nakoruru’ event. There are exclusive rewards that can be obtained along the way including a special costume package created for her. Nakoruru won’t be staying on the court for long though. Players will have until August 6th to complete her quest and recruit her into their roster.

Nakoruru’s arrival is complemented by the highly-requested ‘Mega Pass’ event. The Mega Pass event is a month-long event where players can complete a variety of quests to ultimately obtain the 4th Mega Pass exclusive King Jupiter Set, Flamengo Set and Watermelon Head costume items. Players can check out the Mega Pass event calendar in the game to see what the objectives are for each day/week. The events can be chosen at will to finish only what the players want but the completionists will obtain the exclusive sets.

This major summer update also includes more than 10 other events and item releases for all the players to enjoy during the summer. One highlight will be the opening of Free2Land, a virtual in-game theme park. Just like in real life, players can visit various attractions and play fun mini games to win coins. The collected coins can be used to exchange for items in the Event Shop all month long. The coins are also given in the game through other means of gameplay as well.
