New York Excelsior Flex Support Bang "JjoNak" Sung-hyeon generated the most jersey sales in stage 2 of Overwatch League. The season 1 MVP has retained his dominant form in 2019, earning him a starting spot on the Atlantic Divison All-Star team. JjoNak has led NYXL to a top 2 spot in the Overwatch League at the halfway point in the season with a record of 12-2, second only to the 14-0 Vancouver Titans.
The top five is rounded out by Philadelphia Fusion Off-Tank Gael "Poko" Gouzerch, Seoul Dynasty Flex Support Ryu "ryujehong" Je-hong, Dallas Fuel Tank Son "OGE" Min-seok, and San Francisco Shock DPS Jay "sinatraa" Won. SF Shock Tank Matthew "Super" DeLisi and Atlanta Reign Support Dusttin "Dogman" Bowerman sold 6th and 7th, respectively.
All seven players who topped the jersey sales list in Stage 2 were participants in Overwatch League All-Star 2019 Los Angeles, which took place from May 15th to May 16th. Despite the Pacific Division All-Stars possessing star players from both Stage 1 Champion Vancouver Titans and Stage 2 Champion San Francisco Shock, the Atlantic Division All-Stars prevailed in an exciting 4-1 victory.
JjoNak's high level of play and dynamic, outgoing personality skyrocketed him to stardom immediately follwoing his Overwatch League debut nearly a year and a half ago. The former MVP doesn't look to be slowing down anytime soon, so expect to see the number 44 adorn the backs of more and more fans of NYXL, as well as those with a general appreciation of the highest level of competitive Overwatch.
The Overwatch League returns with Stage 3 on Thursday, June 6th. The New York Excelsior will play its first match after the All-Star break against the Houston Outlaws on Friday, June 7th at 7:30pm PST.
