2018 Worlds Quarterfinalist and 2018 LCK Summer champion, kt Rolster will now have to compete for a seed in the LCK. 

On the 31st of March (KST), DAMWON Gaming defeated kt Rolster 2:0 in the last match for the 2019 LCK Spring Regular Split. With kt losing their last series for Spring, unfortunately, they'll have to compete in the 2019 LCK Summer Promotions in order to protect their seed in the LCK. On the other hand, kt's defeat secured an 8th place spot for Afreeca Freecs which makes them avoid performing in the Promotions. 

Meanwhile, two teams for 2019 LCK Summer Promotions have been confirmed: Jin Air Green Wings, kt Rolster. The remaining two teams will be the Challengers Korea (CK) representatives. The 1st place team for the 2019 CK Spring Regular Split and the winner of the CK Spring Playoffs will get a ticket each for the Promotions.
