On the second day of the 2019 LEC Spring Split, Origen won its first game after a tense battle with Fnatic. The star of the show was Erlend "Nukeduck" Våtevik Holm, whose Kleptomancy Vayne Mid tore through the tanks of Fnatic's composition.

Both teams came into the match after opening day losses,  but Fnatic were favored against the newly formed roster of Origen. Fnatic's composition sported tankiness in spades with Urgot, Galio, and Alistar to go with primary damage dealers in Jhin and Kha'zix. With plenty of mid-range zoning on the side of OG in Swain, Xin Zhao, Lucian, and Braum, Nukeduck locked in the Night Hunter to round out the comp.

"They had many tanks and I can easily lane against Galio, and once late game hits, you one-shot everything," Nukeduck told Laure "Bulii" Valée in the post-game interview. Nukeduck's quote succinctly summed up the game. Origen's Mid Laner had a 45 CS lead over Tim ‘Nemesis’ Lipovšek's Galio towards the end of the laning phase. Origen edged out a slight lead over Fnatic, but once Nukeduck hit his 2-item powerspike, the game was all but over. 

Vayne mid was quite the eyebrow-raiser when Rasmus "Caps" Winther locked it in for Fnatic last year, but conditions were ideal in the draft phase. Origen was aware of the potential the pick possessed. When describing the gameplan in the post-game interview, Jungler Jonas "Kold" Andersen put it simply: "Mid-lane lane kingdom, and we take it from there."

While Caps gets all the credit for pioneering the pick, Nukeduck is in a class of his own in when it comes to flexibility. Since his debut in the 2013 EU LCS, Nukeduck has played 46 different champions. For those of keeping score at home, that's about 1/3 of the League of Legends roster.
