The Paris Overwatch League team has finally announced its highly anticipated roster for the 2019 season and some of the expansion team’s star pick-ups should come as no surprise. DPS player Terence "SoOn" Tarlier and coach Julien "daemoN" Ducros, for starters, are no shocker, with the former’s departure from the Los Angeles Valiant having been rumored for months and confirmed earlier this week.
Rounding out the team’s DPS lineup are George "ShaDowBurn" Gushcha (formerly of the Philadelphia Fusion), Nicolas "NiCO" Moret (formerly of Eagle Gaming, the European Contenders Season 2 Champions), and Karol "Danye" Szcześniak (formerly of Copenhagen Flames, another Path to Pro team).
In the support role, Paris has signed both Damien "HyP" Souville, who recently played for Eagle Gaming alongside NiCO, and Harrison "Kruise" Pond, who most recently competed for Toronto Esports. Benjamin "BenBest" Dieulafait (formerly of Young and Beautiful), Finnbjörn "Finnsi" Jónasson (previously of the LA Valiant), and Roni "LhCloudy" Tiihonen (formerly of Mayhem Academy), meanwhile, comprise the Paris team’s tank lineup.
As aforementioned, former LA Valiant assistant coach daemoN will coach the Paris team, while Michael De Wit was announced as its general manager.
In total, all nine of the team's players are European; three (SoOn, HyP, NiCO) are French. “EU is getting stronger,” wrote the team in its reveal on Twitter.
The team has yet to reveal its name, logo, colors, or other brand-defining features.
