Sailing Mastery and Fishing Mastery have been added in Black Desert Online KR. If you have higher Sailing Mastery your ship’s stats will increase and if you have higher Fishing Mastery you will have higher chances of obtaining the newly-added Orange-grade fishes.

Along with the Masteries, new Manos Clothes and Accessories have been added as well. The new gear will increase Sailing/Fishing Mastery, and is craftable by Manufacturing like other Manos gear.

■ A more powerful Ship! Sailing Mastery System

Sailing Mastery will be determined by Sailing Level but is separate from Sailing Level. Sailing Mastery will be determined by Sailing Level and Manos Sailing gear, and will increase your ship’s (and your ship only) stats.

There are 41 tiers in Sailing Mastery (0 to 2000) and the ship’s stats will increase when the Mastery increases by 50. The ship’s Acceleration, Speed, Turn, and Break will increase by Sailing Mastery multiplied by 0.01. For example, if your Sailing Mastery is 1050 all four stats will increase by 10.5%.

Also, new conditions to use ship skills based on Sailing Mastery have been added. There are 6 tiers: over 0, over 151, over 301, over 501, over 581, and over 1001, and you can still use the ship skills if you have enough Sailing Level even if your Sailing Mastery is not high enough.

Sailing Mastery and Ship Stats

The Magical Manos Sailing gear will increase Sailing Mastery. There are five types: Clothes, Necklace, Earring, Ring, and Belt, and the Mastery will increase by a larger amount if the gear is enhanced. All gear can be enhanced up to PEN(V). PEN Manos Sailing Clothes will increase Sailing Mastery by 400. PEN Belt and Necklace will increase Sailing Mastery by 150, and PEN Ring and Earring will increase Sailing Mastery by 100.

The Manos Sailing Clothes require Black Crystals and Concentrated Magic Black Crystals (from PRI and over) for enhancements and can be safely enhanced up to +5. The Manos Sailing Accessories require Concentrated Magic Black Crystals for enhancement.

Magical Manos Sailing Clothes and Accessories Enhancement Materials

The Manos Sailing gear requires Ocean Sapphires and Daybreak Blue Coral as materials. A total of 34 Ocean Sapphires and 603 Daybreak Blue Coral are required to craft all of the gear.

Ocean Sapphires can be crafted by Processing (Shaking) 7 Resplendent Sapphires and 3 Gem Polisher together, or can be gathered from Whales, Blue Whales, and Fugitive Khalk.

Resplendent Sapphires can be crafted by Processing (Grinding) 5 Sapphires, or can be obtained by random chance when Grinding Rough Sapphires. Resplendent Sapphires are also obtainable by Heating Bensho’s Necklace, Mark of Shadow, or Scarla Necklace. Sapphires are obtainable by Grinding 5 Rough Sapphires, Heating Hesus accessories, or can be manually gathered via mining.
Daybreak Blue Coral can be obtained by Heating 1 Resplendent Sapphire and 3 Blue Corals together, or by Heating Blue Coral Ring. Blue Coral is obtainable by Heating 1 Sapphire and 10 Coral Pieces together or by Heating Blue Coral Earrings. Blue Corals is obtainable by manual gathering as well.

■ Get Legendary Fish! Fishing Mastery

If you have higher Fishing Mastery, you will have a greater chance of getting the newly added Orange-grade (Legendary) fish and Ancient Relic Crystal Shards.

The maximum Fishing Mastery you can have is 2000, and the chances to get Orange-grade fishes will increase as your Fishing Mastery increases by 50. The chance is determined by your Fishing Mastery multiplied by 0.0025. For example, if your Fishing Mastery is 1050 the chance of getting Orange-grade fish is 2.625%.

Fishing Mastery works differently for regular fishing and harpoon fishing. For harpoon fishing, there are four intervals instead of 41. You cannot catch any Legendary fishes below 200 Fishing Mastery. The chance will increase by 1 level from Fishing Mastery 200 to 699, 2 levels from Fishing Mastery 700 to 1199, and 3 levels from Fishing Mastery 1200 and over.

Chance of catching Orange-grade fish based on Fishing Mastery 

The Manos Fisher Clothes and Manos Ocean Accessories, which increase Fishing Mastery, can be enhanced up to PEN. A PEN Manos Fisher Clothes will increase Fishing Mastery by 400. PEN Manos Ocean Belt and Necklace will increase Fishing Mastery by 150, and PEN Manos Ocean Earring and Ring will increase Fishing Mastery by 100. Manos Fishing gear requires Black Crystals and Concentrated Magic Black Crystals for enhancement as well.

The main materials for Manos Fisher Clothes and Manos Ocean Accessories are Ocean Sapphire and Tear of the Ocean. You will need a total of 34 Ocean Sapphires and 135 Tear of Ocean if you craft all of the gear. Ocean Sapphires are obtainable via the method mentioned above, and Tear of the Ocean is obtainable from a repeatable quest.

Magical Manos Fisher Clothes and Ocean Accessories Materials 

You can accept the quest “The Fisherman and the Ocean” from NPC Abelin in Velia. You have to catch a certain type of fish that the quest tells you, and will receive 2 Tear of the Ocean as a reward.
