Stunlock Studios' announcement last week that F2P would be coming to Battlerite in late 2017 sent many enthusiasts reeling. The developer was quick to clarify and assuage community concerns.

“Our goal is to launch F2P by mid Summer, but this is not an official release date or something we wish to promise,” explained an SLS employee via Reddit. It appears that “late 2017” was largely a rough estimation, and a F2P release may come as soon as July instead of next December.

SLS also commented on community suggestions to maintain interest in the game: “We are open to the idea of having multiple free weekends or an Open Beta before Battlerite’s official release.”
