With the East Asian qualifiers for the 2018 Asian Games League of Legends tournament kicking off on Sunday, the final line-up has been finally revealed. Alongside South Korea, Japan, Taiwan, Macau and Hong Kong, China will be bringing a roster heavily centered around the Royal Never Give Up roster.

With LetMe in the top lane, Mlxg in the jungle, superstar Uzi as the ADC, and support Ming as the substitute, Royal Never Give Up has four members playing for China. The team is completed by Team WE’s midlaner xiye and EDward Gaming’s support Meiko.

Coaching the team will be EDward Gaming’s head coach Aaron.

China’s participation in the Asian Games was incognito up until a few hours ago. According to freelance journalist Ran on Twitter, the country government’s refusal to acknowledge esports added an extra layer of hindrance to the team’s efforts in represent China in the tournament.

However, it seems that the team has nonetheless received official approval to participate, which can justify the delay in announcing the full roster, although rumors – many of whom included jungler Clearlove - have been spreading across social media over the last days.

Now, with all problems seemingly sorted out, the Chinese team will be looking to secure one of the three spots from the East Asian qualifier to the Main Games, which will be taking place between August 24th and September 1st in Jakarta, Indonesia.

A total of eight teams will be competing – including hosts Indonesia – in the competition, which will serve as a demonstration sport – meaning that no medals will be awarded – in anticipation for esports’ official entry as a medal event for the 2022 Games in Hangzhou, China.
