Be Valiant: Girls in Gaming Summit Presented by Microsoft to be Held at Microsoft Lounge

The Los Angeles Valiant, the Overwatch League franchise owned by Immortals, today announced that Microsoft has agreed to be the presenting partner for its inaugural “Girls in Gaming Summit” on Saturday, May 19th.

The “Girls in Gaming Summit Presented by Microsoft” will take place at Microsoft’s recently unveiled Microsoft Lounge in Culver City and features an array of panel discussions, gaming, content creation, and networking opportunities. The “Girls in Gaming Summit Presented by Microsoft” is part of the Overwatch League team’s “Be Valiant” community event series, which aims to deliver programming to and serve underrepresented segments in gaming.

As part of the “Be Valiant” series of events, the “Girls in Gaming Summit” is focused on community engagement and inclusion. The summit will feature panel chats with prominent women in gaming, including Catarina Macedo, Program Manager at Xbox, Nicole Fawcette, Sr. Brand Manager, Gears of War & Women in Gaming Co-Lead at Xbox, Alice White Vice President, Global Talent Acquisition at Blizzard Entertainment and Ann Hand, Chairman & CEO of amateur esports platform, Super League Gaming.

Panel topics include “A Conversation With Esports Professionals”, “Championing Change from Industry Behemoths to First Time Streamers” and “Next Steps and Action Items To A Healthy Industry.” The goal of the event is to provide a community and platform that embraces aspiring female gamers to explore both the competitive and career opportunities available to them in esports.
