Today, Overwatch developer Geoff Goodman revealed in a Blizzard forum thread that Hanzo will see at least one nerf in the future, specifically nerfing Storm Arrow's individual damage per arrow down to 70 from 80.

 The full post is as follows:

"We’ve been testing some nerfs internally and have decided to make a change for the upcoming patch.

We’re reducing the damage per arrow from 80 to 70, which not only drops them out of one-shot territory for 200 hp heroes (w/ dmg boost), but also drops them out of one-shot range of 150 heroes such as Tracer and D.Va pilot.

The ability will still be very strong overall, but this change should help mitigate the most frustrating element of fighting against it. We’re looking at getting this change up onto the PTR soon."

In response to frustration

All over Overwatch communities, frustration with Hanzo's power level can be felt. While his initial re-work was praised for it's sweeping changes and new abilities, it seems as if the honeymoon period with new Hanzo has officially ended and Blizzard developers are well aware. 

The proposed change should help with some of the more frustrating examples of overwhelming Hanzo DPS, however, some fans remain skeptical. In his current state, Hanzo does a lot of things well. He is mobile, he can 1v1 enemy heroes, he can bust tanks and barriers all while maintaining his ability to snipe enemy heroes and reveal the enemy team. In addition to all of this, he now builds ultimate charge extremely quickly.

The new Storm Arrows may have removed the insta-death nature of the old Scatter Arrow, but that complaint now pales in comparison to his current power level and the frustration it is bringing to the community.
