On the 7th(KST) of March, KeSPA(KOREA e-SPORTS ASSOCIATION) formed an MOU with the Mexico esports association, Federación Nacional De Deportes Electronicós Mexico A.C, FNDEM. 

At the signing, KeSPA's director of planning, Cheol-Hak Kim, and the president of FNDEM, Woong Lee, agreed to work together to aid in the movement of pushing esports into becoming a permanent part of the Olympics.

Through this signing, KeSPA will be sharing their know-how in esports with FNDEM. Also, this will start a mutual relationship between Korea-Mexico and Korea-South America, opening up new business opportunities between the regions. 

President Lee of FNDEM stated, "FNDEM was established through the official support of the Mexican government and from the traditional sports scene. Also, the vice president of PASO(Pan American Sports Organization), Carlos Padilla Becerra, told me that when he attended an IOC meeting in preparation for the Olympics in France, he expressed his feelings for esports; that its potential for further development is high and that its a great sports category for the young people. Afterward, with enthusiasm, he started establishing the Mexican esports organization. The reason for today's signing is that he wants to learn from Korea, the nation that started the esports trend. If a chance arises, we'll try to set up a meeting between the president of the Mexican Olympic Committee and the chairman of the Korea Sports Council."

Director Lee of KeSPA followed with, "The esports market in Central and South America is still fairly new. I'm very happy that we'll be able to use our knowledge in esports - knowledge that has been accumulating for 20 years now - to help develop the esports market in Mexico and its bordering regions. Due to the recent addition of esports as an official category in the Asian Games and the ㄱrecent debates of whether or not esports is fit for the France Olympics, we've been getting in contact with a lot of different national associations. Through this MOU, along with Mexico and other Central-South American nations, we'll create a voice to help bring esports into the Olympic Games. We'll do our best to make esports into an official international sports category."
