The first Inven Global Esports Conference (IGEC) is proud to feature both Yoon-sang Choi and Yeon-sung “iloveoov” Choi as speakers. Yoon-sang Choi is the head coach for MVP, which has shown great performance for various titles including League of Legends (LoL), Dota 2, and Heroes of the storm. Yeon-sung “iloveoov” Choi is the current coach for Afreeca Freecs LoL, and also used to be one of the best players and coaches of StarCraft.
MVP was founded as a Starcraft 2 team in October of 2010. Yoon fostered Sooho “DongRaeGu” Park to be an international star player, and lead the team to be the best in LoL, Dota 2, and HotS. He also is in charge of teams for Counter-Strike, Overwatch, and PLAYERUNKNOWN’S BATTLEGROUNDS. At the IGEC, Choi will describe what it was like climbing from the bottom to the top in an industry dominated by conglomerate-based Korean teams.
Yeon-sung “iloveoov” Choi, current head coach of Afreeca Freecs LoL, debuted as a StarCraft player in 2003. He placed himself on the “Master List” with Yo-hwan “SlayerS_’BoxeR’” Lim and Yun-yeol “NaDa” Lee soon after establishing his “Monstrous Terran” paradigm. He even has his name listed on the “Korean Esports Hall of Fame” as a tribute to his strength and popularity as a Starcraft player.
After he retired as a player, he proved his capability as a coach by leading the SKT T1 StarCraft team to victory in the pro league. As a figure that has experienced almost every facet of the Esports world, it will be quite exciting to hear what tales he has to tell.
The first IGEC is planned to take place at the UCI for one day from 10:00 to 17:00 on May 1st, and more details about presentations, ticket pricing, and relevant events will be updated on the IGEC homepage.
