Afreeca Freecs has become the first team in Korea to receive investment from a venture capital.

On the 17th of January, Afreeca Freecs made an announcement that they have received 500 million Korean Won($470k) as an investment from a venture capital named 'Central Investment Partners'.

The League of Legends team, Afreeca Freecs, was established in December of 2015. Their journey in the LCK began during the Spring of 2016. The organization continued investing in their League of Legends team in 2017 and acquired famous players such as Marin and Kuro. And very recently, AF started garnering a lot of attention from fans, as they have become the only team in Korea that fields a 10-man roster. 

Through the investment of Central Investment Partners, Afreeca Freecs will be able to stand in a better position within the Korean esports market, which has been growing exponentially. Central Investment Partners and AF are planning to continue to build trust and work towards establishing teams in other esports games as well, such as PUBG.
