G2 Esports has parted ways with VALORANT player Alexander 'jawgemo' Mor, posting a farewell on X (formerly Twitter) on November 6th.
"You can take the dawg out of G2, but he will always be part of the pack," the organisation's VALORANT account wrote, alongside a tribute video. "For every entry, every scream, and every round you made us believe. Thank you @jawgemo ❤️"
jawgemo later quote-posted the announcement with his own statement. "It's been a journey these last two years at G2, enjoyed every iteration of it!" he wrote. He thanked staff, teammates and fans who "stuck through the ups and downs," adding: "Hopefully my journey doesn't end here because this has been a hard year for me. Losing a lot but building and becoming a better person is what this is all about! Excited what's in store next but thank you G2 for making it a banger couple years💜"
From Champions to G2
Mor won VALORANT Champions 2023 with Evil Geniuses in Los Angeles, according to Riot Games' official Champions recap. In the Grand Final against Paper Rex he posted 25 kills on the opening map, Split, as EG closed the series 3-1 to lift the Champions trophy on home soil.
G2's official player page still lists him as Alex "jawgemo" Mor and describes him as a VCT Champion addition to its Americas roster. Neither G2 nor jawgemo said where he will play next, or named a replacement for 2027.
G2's VALORANT off-season
The exit comes in the same off-season window as G2's earlier farewell to IGL valyn, announced on October 27th after three years with the organisation.
On Riot's official VCT team page for G2 Esports, the side is listed first in VCT Americas Stage 1 2026 with a 7-3 record, and finished Champions Shanghai with a 4-3 playoff mark. Friday's posts did not name the rest of G2's 2027 VALORANT lineup.
