Semiwork's online co-op horror game R.E.P.O. will launch on Nintendo Switch 2 in 2027, Nintendo of America announced during today's Nintendo Indie World showcase.
Nintendo of America revealed the port on X (formerly Twitter) with a short trailer, inviting players to "loot valuables with your fellow semibots." Semiwork reposted the announcement on its own account. No exact release date or price for the Switch 2 version was given.
Nintendo has used Indie World to bring PC indie hits to its newest console before, as with Raw Fury's puzzle game Blue Prince launching on Switch 2 after an Indie World showcase earlier this year.
What R.E.P.O. is
R.E.P.O. entered Early Access on Steam on February 26th 2025, developed and published by semiwork. Up to six players team up to find valuable, physics-based objects in the haunted remains of a lost humanity and carry them back for extraction. According to the game's Steam page, it uses proximity voice chat, and the monsters obey the same physics as the loot, which ranges from heavy pianos to fragile ceramics.
Players work for a mysterious computer intelligence and spend the cash they earn on robotic upgrades and weapons. The Steam page lists more than 140,000 English-language user reviews, 96% of them positive, for an 'Overwhelmingly Positive' rating. R.E.P.O. has also climbed to the top of Steam's sales charts alongside fellow co-op game PEAK.
Still in Early Access on PC
On the Steam page, semiwork said it expected the game to spend around a year and a half in Early Access. The studio said the full version would add player customisation, meta progression, more story elements, more upgrades and equipment, and more levels and enemies. It also said the price might go up when version 1.0 releases. Semiwork has not said whether the Switch 2 version will launch as the full 1.0 release.
