On October 23, LINE Games Corporation released Demo 2.0 for its upcoming PC co-op sci-fi horror title, CODE EXIT. The demo is currently playable on Steam and the Epic Games Store.
This update incorporates player feedback. Key improvements include an overhauled user interface (UI) and the addition of a key binding feature to customize keyboard controls. The multiplayer system has also been optimized to improve the co-op play environment.
For players new to the game, a tutorial stage has been added. Structured to help players learn controls and survival mechanics, it focuses on lowering the barrier to entry. In the previous Steam playtest, the game introduced mechanics such as the 'MiRO' robot respawn, allowing fallen players to assist allies, and 'Offline S.O.M.A', an enemy that detects noise and actions.
CODE EXIT is also scheduled to participate in Steam Scream Fest V, a global horror game event held online from October 27 to November 3. LINE Games plans to expand player outreach through its participation in the event.
The game is being developed by Phase 8 Studio and will be published by LINE Games. Following the release of its demo on May 20, development is underway targeting an Early Access launch in Q1 2027.
A representative from LINE Games stated, "We are developing the game by reflecting player feedback to improve overall gameplay," adding, "We plan to further enhance the horror and co-op experience unique to CODE EXIT."
