Arc System Works Asia Co., Ltd. announced that Reel Fishing: Days of Summer Nintendo Switch 2 Edition launched simultaneously worldwide on the 22nd. This edition features new "Ice Fishing" content with mouse control support, along with performance enhancements.
The game features 14 fishing spots, ranging from mountain streams to the ocean, with over 40 species of fish to catch. Players can craft and upgrade more than 50 fishing tackle items, including rods, lures, and reels. Materials gathered during fishing are used to craft new gear.
On Nintendo Switch 2, resolution and frame rates are improved, and loading times are shortened. The edition can also be played on the original Nintendo Switch console, though resolution and frame rates will reflect that hardware's specs. In that case, the "Ice Fishing" mode and mouse control features are not supported.
The three main characters each possess different specialties, such as fishing, crafting tackle, and cooking. As players progress through daily routines, quests, and the story, they can grow character abilities and acquire skills to enhance their specialties. A feature to place caught fish in an aquarium for observation is also included.
The story begins as the main group embarks on a summer fishing trip and encounters a mysterious boy at a resort. As they work to help the boy, players experience adventure and RPG elements alongside fishing.
Reel Fishing: Days of Summer is the 16th entry in Natsume Inc.'s Reel Fishing series. It follows Reel Fishing: Road Trip Adventure, which Arc System Works Asia localized into Korean and released in June 2020. The Reel Fishing series has spanned more than 25 years since its debut on PlayStation.
This edition is a digital-download-only title for Nintendo Switch 2 for single-player play. Subtitle languages supported include Korean, Japanese, English, and Traditional and Simplified Chinese.
