Nexon (Co-CEOs Kang Dae-hyun and Kim Jung-wook) announced on October 21 that it has launched pre-reservations for character names and a total of 19 servers for TEMPPAL: OVERGEARED, a new MMORPG developed by Gray Games (CEO Choi Byung-chun), along with two events.
Players can participate in this pre-reservation through the official TEMPPAL: OVERGEARED website. To complete the reservation, players select their desired server and enter their preferred character name. The 19 available servers comprise 13 standard servers named after terms and characters from the original IP—such as 'Grid', 'Pagma', and 'Yura'—and six creator servers. Character names are unique across all 19 servers, and each account can create only one name.
In the game, each server selected by a player functions as an individual 'dimension.' Players can travel to other 'dimensions' to gather minerals or defeat bosses that spawn exclusively in specific regions. Depending on player preferences, the reasons for crossing over to other servers vary beyond simple combat to include activities like mining and crafting.
In tandem with the opening of pre-reservations, two events will run until further notice. First, the 'Equipment Pre-Reservation' event allows players to combine materials using earned entry tickets to craft gear, granting special equipment and various support items as rewards. Depending on the tier of successful crafting, players can earn equipment selection boxes such as 'Master Craftsman Khan's Masterpiece of Winston' and 'Forgotten Legend Grid's Masterpiece.' Meanwhile, 'Pagma's Secret Auction House' is an event where players compete in bidding for rare character names, with the winning bidder receiving a 'Name Application Scroll' to claim that name.
TEMPPAL: OVERGEARED is a major MMORPG currently in development based on the original Overgeared IP, which enjoyed immense popularity in domestic and international markets. The underlying Overgeared IP has accumulated 1.3 billion combined views for its web novel and webtoon on KakaoPage. Furthermore, it reached #1 in popularity on the Asian web novel platform Wuxiaworld, while on the Japanese digital comic and novel platform Piccoma, it recorded 85.28 million cumulative likes and won the Piccoma Award 2023.
Nexon is handling the publishing of TEMPPAL: OVERGEARED and plans to officially launch the cross-platform title supporting PC and mobile within this year across South Korea, Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Macao. Detailed information regarding the server and character name pre-reservation can be found on the official website and YouTube channel.
