AYN has revealed the first trailer for its large-screen Android gaming handheld, the 'Odin 3 Portal.' In particular, by packing a Qualcomm Dragonwing Q8 chipset and a 9,000mAh battery, it boosts both performance and battery life compared to its predecessor, the 'Odin 2 Portal.'
On the 19th, AYN posted a 38-second video to its official YouTube channel, revealing key specifications such as chipset, battery, and weight for the first time. This comes about a week after the company teased only the exterior on its official Instagram, Discord, and X alongside the tagline "Flagship power, precise control."
The Dragonwing Q8 is the same chip used in the standard Odin 3—an IoT derivative chip created by removing only the cellular modem from the Snapdragon 8 Elite. Its configuration—a 3nm process, an 8-core Oryon CPU clocked up to 4.32GHz, and an Adreno 830 GPU—is identical to the 8 Elite. Compared to the predecessor's Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, it skips the 8 Gen 3 in between, leaping two generations at once.
There was previously some confusion regarding the chip's name. AYN had initially promoted the Odin 3 as a device equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Elite, but updated the chipset designation to Dragonwing Q8 after launch, clarifying that both chips share the same CPU and GPU configuration, with only cellular connectivity removed.

The battery capacity is 1,000mAh larger than the 8,000mAh found in the Odin 2 Portal and Odin 3. Weighing in at 450g, it is 20g heavier than its predecessor's 430g, and 60g heavier than the 6-inch screen Odin 3 at 390g. AYN included the phrase "450g even with a bigger battery and better cooling" in the video, highlighting quiet operation for its fan-powered active cooling.
While the overall appearance closely resembles the previous model, the touchpoints have been refined. The grips feature an ergonomic design for comfortable long-session play, while the front screen utilizes anti-glare (AG) glass to reduce fingerprint smudges. The device also claims quiet, soft-touch ABXY buttons.
The analog joysticks are Hall Effect sticks that AYN describes as "full-sized". In the video, textured patterns are visible along the edges of the stick caps. While they are reported to be slightly larger than those on the predecessor, exact dimensions were not revealed. However, details such as screen size, RAM, storage, pricing, and release date were not provided in this video. The predecessor featured a 7-inch AMOLED display, but screen specifications for the successor have yet to be finalized.
Currently on the official AYN store, the base Odin 3 model (8GB/128GB) is listed at $369 (approx. 490,000 won), while the base Odin 2 Portal model is being offered at a discounted price of $259 (approx. 340,000 won).
