Tripwire Interactive has released ‘Halloween Horrors: Ghastly Getaway’, a free Halloween update for Killing Floor 3 and the game’s first annual seasonal event.
According to a release, the update is out now on PC (via Steam and the Epic Games Store), PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. Killing Floor 3 is a co-op first-person shooter (FPS) set in 2091, where players fight off waves of bio-engineered monsters called Zeds. The event’s seasonal visuals will run until November 5th, while a new map and several other additions are permanent.
What’s in the Halloween update
The biggest addition is Haunted Hotel, a new survival map set in the Hotel Iorga in Vladislav, Romania. In the game’s story, the multi-storey hotel has been torn apart by a ritual that went ‘catastrophically wrong’. Players fight across several floors, so falling from the upper levels is a real danger.
During the event, all base Zed models and Dr Moorcroft, a boss recently added to the game, have been replaced with designs based on classic horror movie monsters. These Halloween Zeds will appear on every map until November 5th, after which they will stay on Haunted Hotel only. The Stronghold, which acts as the player’s home base, has also been redecorated for the season and keeps its new look for the same period.

The update also adds cheaper single-weapon versions of the dual-wield pistols used by the Gunslinger class. The studio, which both develops and publishes the game, said this gives players more control over how they upgrade their primary pistols.
Supply Pass rewards and other changes
A new Halloween Supply Pass, the game’s version of a battle pass, includes 208 rewards across free and paid tracks. Cosmetics include the Commando Chicken and the Chickenator, as well as weapon skins, trinkets, player cards and stickers. The in-game store has also been updated with items such as the Skeleton Jumpsuit, Pumpkin Mask and Monster Mask.
Elsewhere, the update brings new main menu music, daily challenges, wave and weekly mutators and milestone challenges. Tripwire has also made quality-of-life improvements and fixed a number of bugs and crashes, with balance and optimisation work still ongoing. Veteran players sitting on extra Supply Pass Points can now spend them on Double XP boosters for Perks, though this is limited to once per day.

Full details can be found in the patch notes on the Tripwire Interactive forums. The developer also pointed fans to its latest Office Hours video for an early look at upcoming content, and said news on seasonal discounts would be shared on the game’s social channels.
Killing Floor 3 launched on July 24th 2025 and is set 70 years after the events of Killing Floor 2. Players take on the role of a specialist in Nightfall, a rebel group fighting back against the megacorp Horzine and its army of Zeds. Squads of up to six players work together to survive waves of enemies, unlock new skills and build up their weapons.
