MXM NA Qualifier, The River King's Cup, 1st Round Match Results

On August 12th, Master X Master had its first community tournament, The River King’s Cup, and 8 teams played against each other in the North America Group Stages. CLG, Wandering Potatoes, Masters of Battle, and Snax made it to the next round.

In the first matchup between CLG and Team C, both team banned Statesman and Tulam. CLG’s sovt picked V-merang and Koom so he can defend the top lane by himself. As CLG predicted, Team C tried to push in the top lane, causing a massive team fight.

Team C tried to get King Tanian, but CLG stole that King Tanian and destroyed enemy towers and dominated all lanes with the buff on their side. CLG took huge victories in many team fight, and even made a team kill once.

To turn the game around, Team C decided to go for Rozark. However, CLG did not let them take Rozark and once again CLG stole the buff from Team C. CLG was 300 points ahead of Team C, and Team C’s Core was destroyed by the Titans coming from all lanes. CLG took a clean sweep against Team C with Wertion and Vero being the key players. Wertion made a 8 players kill streak with zero death during the game.

Wandering Potatoes won against Seraphim in the second matchup of the day. Wandering Potatoes quickly got King Tanian, and destroyed Seraphim’s towers with the buff on their side. Seraphim only had 4 towers left. While their Titan was pushing towards enemy towers, Wandering Potatoes quickly got all the objects and the difference in the two team’s score was getting bigger.

However, Seraphim began to kill the players at Wandering Potatoes one by one, and the gap between the two team’s score was reducing. Seraphim even stole King Tania from Wandering Potatoes and destroyed an enemy tower.

Wandering Potatoes decided to avoid team fights and get as many score points as possible. They successfully destroyed all enemy Guardian Towers, but could not push to the Core. Seraphim also tried to destroyed the enemy team’s core, but the push was not enough.

The two teams fiercely fought to get as many poits as possible. Seraphim summoned a Titan 30 seconds before the game ended for a last push, but time ran out before they could get the points they needed. The final score was 711:706; Wandering Potatoes were only 5 points ahead.

In the third matchup of the day, MoB won againnst Team Tado. Team Tado picked Mondo Jax /Moro, and Dr.Raoul/Ignuma, which are not popular picks. Team Tado tried to push the top lane to win the Altar fight, but MoB fiercely countered them. Neither of the two dominated the top lane and they left the lane with a few score points.

The balance began to shift when MoB stole King Tanian from Tado. Tado tried to get Kig Tanian with Moro, but MoB read their move and stole the buff from them. With the King Tanian buff and a Titan on their side, MoB destroyed four enemy Towers and began to lead the game.

Team Tado initiated a few team fights to turn the game around, but could not pull any remarkable victory as their team composition was not a good composition for team fights. Team Tado was defeated multiple times by MoB Rekyn’s Statesman, making the situation eve worse.

MoB smoothly acquired the secod and third Tanian buff, and destroyed all enemy Guardian Towers. MoB won the final team fight at mid lane, and destroyed enemy Core to win the game.

The last matchup of the day was between Snax and Deus Black. XxCaptainDogexX of Deus Black picked V-Merag and Bumaro to secure their victory in the lanes. The first team fight occured at the top lane. Every players fought fiercely at the top lane, and Snax got First Blood. After Snax won the team fight, they destroyed two of Deus Black’s Guardian Towers and continued the push.

As Deus Black’s CaptainDoge was attacking the Towers at the bottom lane, all other players fought in multiple team fights. But all team fights ended in Snax’s victory with Waseem’s Jinsoyun and Hooligan’s Stateman dominated the fights with amazing uses of mobility skills. Deus Black had only two Towers left.

Deus Black tried to get Rozark to turn the game around, but was detected by the Wards that Snax already installed. Snax summoned a Titan, and got the Rozark buff on their side.

Snax summoned more Titans and pushed towards the enemy Core. Deus Black tried their best to defend their Core, but could not stop the push and lost the game.
