AION 2 early access goes live on Steam and PURPLE

Add us on

AION 2 has launched in early access on Steam and PURPLE, giving Founder's Pack owners a five-day head start before the game's full release on October 5th.

The massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG) is published in the West by NC America, which described AION 2 as its 'premiere MMORPG'. Early access is open to anyone who has bought one of the three Founder's Pack tiers (Standard, Deluxe or Ultimate). Players can join through Steam or through PURPLE, NC's in-house game platform.

According to a release, early access offers the full game. The recent Launch Scale Test was limited in technical scope, but this phase includes all of AION 2's key online features. Among them are wardrobe and transmog systems, which let players change the look of their character and gear, as well as high-level content, the in-game marketplace and economy, and cosmetics from the cash shop. A trailer was also released.

Player versus player (PvP) modes are also available, including battlegrounds and dimensional rifts. Players will keep the progress they make during early access.

The Standard edition costs $24.99, the Deluxe edition $49.99 and the Ultimate edition $99.99. Every tier comes with early access and a 30-day membership. Depending on the tier, the packs also include a range of perks, titles, extra cosmetics, starter chests, skins and wings. Full details on each pack are available on the AION 2 Steam page and on PURPLE.

What is AION 2?

AION 2 is the follow-up to AION, one of NC's original IPs. The South Korean publisher and developer is also behind Blade & Soul, Lineage and Guild Wars.

Flight is billed as the game's 'signature experience'. According to the release, players can fly freely across a world 36 times larger than the one in the original AION. They can also dive underwater and take part in aerial combat in both player versus environment (PvE) and PvP content.

NC America, based in Irvine, California, is NC's western publishing division. It handles live production and publishing for select NC titles across North America, South America, Europe and Oceania, and plans to expand its portfolio with more NC-developed games and third-party titles.

AION 2 officially launches on Monday, October 5th.
