A major new announcement for Overwatch eSports was released: the Overwatch League.

The Overwatch League promises to combine the best elements of eSports and traditional sports to create an unparalleled competitive experience for players and fans of Blizzard’s critically acclaimed team-based shooter.

Combines will be opened for coaches to pick up the most talented players; teams will be formed around major cities to promote the growth of regional fanbases. Free agency, enforced contracts, and baseline minimum salaries and benefits will also be included in the ambitious new system.
