Super Creative announced today (23rd) through an official video on its YouTube channel that Producer Seung-hyun Choi has been appointed as the new Producer (PD) of its roguelike deck-building hero-collector RPG 'Chaos Zero Nightmare' (CZN).
Prior to the launch of Chaos Zero Nightmare, Producer Seung-hyun Choi served as System Team Lead, managing overall game systems. He later concurrently took on the role of Live Director, overseeing player feedback and general development while consistently communicating with players during official broadcasts. As former PD and Co-CEO Kim Hyung-suk announced in July that he would step down after wrapping up CZN's first anniversary, Director Choi Seung-hyun—who actively participated in events and presented roadmaps on broadcasts in his place since early after launch—appears to have taken over the position.

In the video, Producer Seung-hyun Choi addressed the issue of preserving Combatant value, a topic that has been consistently raised in Chaos Zero Nightmare. The game has previously faced backlash on multiple occasions due to nerfs or changes to Combatants following each season. Regarding this issue, he emphasized, "We will not make changes except when strictly necessary, such as bug fixes," adding that the team will prioritize balance verification rather than passing that burden onto players. Furthermore, he noted that seasonal balance issues will be addressed through new content rather than monster gimmicks or content restrictions.

He also stated that the burden regarding Save Data completion, which directly affects player fatigue, will be reduced. First, a 'Remote Extraction' feature—a type of sweep function—was added to Sortie, allowing players to quickly acquire Dark Matter, which can be exchanged for currency used to edit Save Data. The supply of Core-type rewards will be further expanded in the future. In addition, he revealed that sources for obtaining Save Data will be broadened beyond Chaos through out-game content and events.
He also mentioned a shift in character design philosophy. Up until now, Chaos Zero Nightmare focused heavily on competitive content such as The Great Rift, where players compete for scores based on how much damage they deal to seasonal bosses. As a result, the ways players could utilize characters and decks were restricted, leading to a narrow seasonal meta. Addressing these issues, Producer Seung-hyun Choi explained that the team will expand content to allow for diverse character and deck setups, rather than forcing a single specific meta.

In connection with this, the seasonal system will also be overhauled. Previously, a season ran for 9 weeks split into early, mid, and late phases in 3-week intervals, followed by a 3-week pre-season, updating only standard content such as new characters, event stories, seasonal gimmicks, and early/late-phase Great Rift runs. Going forward, however, the duration of each season will be extended, while the volume of seasonal update content will be significantly increased. This change aims to encourage players to experiment with and enjoy various builds rather than highlighting only a specific meta.
To mark the 1st anniversary, Producer Seung-hyun Choi shared that a 1st Anniversary Showcase for Chaos Zero Nightmare will be held in early October, and a roadmap outlining new endeavors for CZN will be revealed in December. He added, "Please look forward to and show great interest in the new Chaos Zero Nightmare, and feel free to give constructive criticism as well." Furthermore, to express gratitude for his appointment and to players who have loved Chaos Zero Nightmare, he announced that 10 Signal Amplification Anchors—a rate-up banner summon ticket—will be provided weekly for three weeks starting on the 23rd, totaling 30 tickets.
