Netmarble held a media presentation for its upcoming title 'Shangri-La Frontier: The Seven Colossi' at Tokyo Game Show 2026 at Makuhari Messe in Japan on September 17, unveiling an original PV for the first time.
The presentation, held at the Netmarble booth, was hosted by esports caster MC OooDa. Producer Kim Kyung-ryul of Netmarble Nexus and Hirokazu Yamashita, Head of the Business Division at Netmarble Japan, introduced the game, while cosplayer Enako attended as a special guest.
The event introduced four core elements: the series' first video game adaptation, faithful recreation of the original work, strategic combat, and the Seven Colossi. Alongside a game demo, congratulatory video messages from original creators Katarina and Ryosuke Fuji, as well as Yuma Uchida, who voices protagonist Sunraku, were also revealed.
An original PV produced in collaboration with C2C, the animation studio behind the anime adaptation, was premiered for the first time. The video opens with Unique Monster Wezaemon appearing in the graveyard of the Secret Garden, followed by brief battle scenes featuring main characters including Sunraku and Emul.
It then highlights Sunraku, Arthur Pencilgon, and Oikatzo confronting Wezaemon the Tombguard. The video combines the atmosphere of the original anime with the game's tag-team combat and original cinematic direction.
The original franchise 'Shangri-La Frontier' is based on an IP comprising a web novel with over 1 billion cumulative views and a manga that has surpassed 18 million copies in circulation. It follows the adventures of a high school student who habitually seeks out unpopular games as he dives into 'Shangri-La Frontier', widely acclaimed as a masterpiece.
Currently under development by Netmarble Nexus, 'Shangri-La Frontier: The Seven Colossi' is a tag-team battle RPG that reflects the universe of the original work. It offers gameplay where players explore the in-game world, encounter companions and NPCs, and hunt monsters, utilizing an accessible one-handed, two-character swap combat system.
