The Computer Entertainment Supplier's Association (CESA) announced that Sanrio characters have been appointed as official ambassadors for Family Game Park 2026, the dedicated children and family exhibition area of Tokyo Game Show 2026.
Family Game Park 2026 will take place from September 19 to 21 at TKP Tokyo Bay Makuhari Hall in Chiba Prefecture, Japan. Admission is free for children of junior high school age or younger and their accompanying guardians. This year, the event moves from its previous location at the Makuhari Messe Event Hall to a nearby venue. Visitors of junior high school age or older require a separate Tokyo Game Show admission ticket to access Makuhari Messe's main exhibition halls and other event areas.
Sanrio characters will participate in the event alongside Sanapi, a children's gaming magazine editor-in-chief character who was announced as an ambassador in August. A welcome photo zone featuring Hello Kitty, Pompompurin, and Sanapi will be set up at the venue. On the ambassador stage celebrating Tokyo Game Show's 30th anniversary, CESA's official mascot, Sanapi, and Sanrio characters will appear together. These characters will also be featured in career exploration guidebooks distributed to children.
The venue consists of 'Asobiba!', a playable game zone, and 'Manabiba!', a learning zone where visitors can explore careers in the gaming industry. At Asobiba!, elementary and junior high school students can try out age-appropriate games, related products, and hardware from participating companies. At Manabiba!, workshops and educational programs based on real game development will be conducted.
In addition, the event features a Kids Stage, character meet-and-greets, capsule toys, a stamp rally spanning six checkpoints, an official merchandise booth, and a Tokyo Game Show 30th anniversary prize drawing for venue survey participants. Operating hours are from 9:30 AM to 5:00 PM on September 19 and 20, and from 9:30 AM to 4:00 PM on September 21. Doors may open earlier depending on venue congestion.
