SOOP will officially broadcast live the main stage and key esports content of Blizzard Entertainment's gaming convention 'BlizzCon 2026' from Sept. 13 to 14 KST.
'BlizzCon 2026' will be held at the Anaheim Convention Center in California from Sept. 12 to 13 local U.S. time. The event will feature an opening ceremony announcing new updates for major Blizzard games, alongside developer panels, game demos, community programs, and esports tournaments.
Along with the main stage, SOOP will broadcast major programs in South Korea, including the 'Blizzard Classic Cup' and the 'Overwatch World Cup'.
The 'Blizzard Classic Cup' is a team competition featuring iconic players who have represented Blizzard esports. It will be contested across four titles: 'StarCraft: Remastered', 'StarCraft II', 'Warcraft III: Reforged', and 'Heroes of the Storm'. Players from each game, including Lim "BoxeR" Yo-hwan, Kang "Nal_rA" Min, and Jang "MC" Min-chul, will take part in the event.
The main tournament and finals of the 'Overwatch World Cup', which held its group stage in Busan last August, will also continue at BlizzCon. Eight nations that advanced through the group stage will battle for the championship in a single-elimination format. South Korea previously recorded three consecutive tournament titles from 2016 to 2018.
SOOP plans to offer official in-game items and special Drops to viewers watching the 'Overwatch World Cup'. Streamers active on SOOP will also participate in co-streaming, broadcasting major BlizzCon programs and tournaments.
