Game data analytics firm Alinea Analytics estimated that 'The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt – Songs of the Past' (hereinafter 'Songs of the Past') saw the highest growth in new Steam wishlists among games featured at Gamescom 2026.

According to data released on September 1 by Rhys Elliott, Lead Market Analyst at Alinea Analytics, 'Songs of the Past' gained approximately 451,000 new Steam wishlists from August 23 to 30. The figure compares the period starting two days before Gamescom Opening Night Live through the final day of the event.

Second place went to 'Warlock: Dungeons & Dragons' with approximately 379,000 wishlists, followed by 'Ananta' in third with roughly 302,000. The gap between 'Songs of the Past' and second place was approximately 72,000 wishlists. 'LEGO Skylines' ranked fourth with around 273,000 wishlists.

Steam does not publicly disclose the absolute wishlist counts for individual games. Figures such as the 451,000 count and rankings are proprietary estimates by Alinea Analytics rather than official statistics provided by Valve. Alinea Analytics also noted that wishlists serve as an indicator of player interest rather than a direct metric for predicting launch sales.

Separately, CD PROJEKT RED announced on the official 'The Witcher' account on September 2 that wishlists for 'Songs of the Past' reached 900,000. The company's IR channel stated that 900,000 users added the expansion to their wishlists within a week. This figure was shared directly by the developer, and the public post did not specify which platforms were included in the tally. Because its scope differs from Alinea Analytics' estimate—which calculates the net increase strictly on Steam over a specific timeframe—the two numbers cannot be directly compared.

'Songs of the Past' is the third expansion for 'The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt.' Co-developed by CD PROJEKT RED and Fool's Theory, it is scheduled for release in 2027 on PC, PS5, XSX|S, and Nintendo Switch 2.
