On September 2, Longplay Studios revealed the open-world zombie survival game 'Terminus: Zombie Survivors 2' and launched its Steam store page.
'Terminus: Zombie Survivors 2' is the sequel to the turn-based survival roguelike 'Terminus: Zombie Survivors'. Replacing the top-down pixel art of the original, it features realistic full 3D graphics and an isometric perspective, rendering variations in terrain and structure heights. It also incorporates visual effects utilizing weather and environmental elements, such as rain, fog, and wet road surfaces.
Survivors scavenge the city to secure materials and food, engaging in cooking, crafting, building, farming, and fishing. They must keep fires lit to withstand rain, snow, and cold, and rely on flashlights to navigate at night.
The game's world has transitioned from the original's node-based system—where players selected zones to travel—to a seamless open world. Players can directly travel across towns, forests, and highways, discovering supplies and traces of other survivors in motels, gas stations, supermarkets, and hospitals.
The goal is to survive a zombie-infested city and reach the safe zone, the Terminus. The entire journey can be played in single-player or online co-op.
Longplay Studios explained that it is developing the game to expand the survival experience of the original into a wider, deeper world, making hunger, cold, and darkness feel far more tangible through realistic graphics.
'Terminus: Zombie Survivors 2' is currently in development aiming for a launch on PC via Steam. It will support Korean, English, Simplified and Traditional Chinese, Japanese, German, and French.
