A gameplay trailer for 'Serious Sam: Shatterverse', the new entry in the 'Serious Sam' series, has been revealed.

Behaviour Interactive showcased new footage for 'Serious Sam: Shatterverse' at the Gamescom 2026 Future Games Show (FGS) on the 27th. This entry is a roguelite FPS supporting 1- to 5-player co-op.

In this title, as Uber Mental fractures the walls between dimensions, alternate Sams from across the multiverse must team up to restore the shattered world. Joining the Serious Program, players work alongside Sams from other dimensions to confront Uber Mental and defeat the five lieutenants he left behind across each timeline. Each lieutenant appears as a boss.

Combat combines the series' iconic classic weapons with brand-new armaments, while boons and run modifiers change up the playstyle with every run. True to the roguelite genre, death is not the end, allowing players to experiment with new strategies on every attempt.

The maps feature unstable anomalies, hidden portals, and high-risk elements that can drastically empower or instantly end a run, rewarding players with modifiers and permanent upgrades. Enemies also include both returning series monsters and brand-new foes, attacking in massive hordes.

'Serious Sam: Shatterverse' features procedurally shifting map layouts, offering a fresh battlefield for every run. Published by Devolver Digital, the game is scheduled to launch on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S on September 1.
