Escape from Playtime, a co-op survival horror game set in the Poppy Playtime universe, has been revealed.
On August 27, Mob Entertainment showcased gameplay footage of Escape from Playtime at Gamescom 2026 Future Games Show (FGS). Supporting 1–4 player online co-op, players are trapped in an abandoned toy factory and must survive while following instructions from an unidentified voice.
In each run, players are deployed to a specific section of the factory, including classrooms, warehouses, testing labs, and dark corridors connecting them. The factory is inhabited by Playtime Co.'s rejected creations roaming the crumbling hallways. Players must work together, utilize their environment, and escape the factory.
The mysterious voice instructs players to enter the facility to retrieve scattered parts and resources. To survive, players must utilize tools found within the factory, uncover clues, locate hiding spots, and evade the rejected creations by distracting them or taking alternate routes. In multiplayer, proximity voice chat can be used to scout broader areas.
Additionally, a mini-mode is provided where players become the Smiling Critters to climb and explore throughout the factory. The mysterious voice also randomly shifts the factory layout in each run, making even familiar locations feel fresh.
Escape from Playtime will launch first in Early Access, featuring all 8 characters, 1 starter zone, and a core enemy lineup. Subsequently, new zones, enemies, and content are planned to be added based on player feedback. An exact release date has not yet been announced.
