Top Hat Studios announced that 'Well Dweller', a Metroidvania action-adventure game developed by Kyle Thompson, will launch on September 22.

'Well Dweller' is a game where players explore a kingdom reminiscent of a dark fairy tale and battle powerful beasts. First revealed at the Nintendo Indie World Showcase, the game features unique characters and a dark, bizarre world.

Developer Kyle Thompson previously released 'Crypt Custodian' and 'Islets'. According to a press release, 'Crypt Custodian' earned an "Overwhelmingly Positive" rating in Steam user reviews.

Players embark on an adventure as 'Glimmer', a tiny bird armed with a single matchstick as a weapon. To save their family from becoming ornaments on the wicked queen's dress, players explore every corner of the kingdom and battle various beasts.

Unlocking new abilities as the adventure progresses allows entry into previously inaccessible areas. Meeting various characters and discovering hidden riddles and clues throughout the world brings players closer to the secrets surrounding the kingdom and the wicked queen.

'Well Dweller' will launch on Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC (Steam). It will join Xbox Game Pass as a Day One title at launch, allowing Xbox Series X|S and PC users to play the full game immediately upon release.
