Akatsuki Games Inc. announced that a major update has been rolled out for its giant-slaying RPG "KAIJU NO. 8 THE GAME"—co-produced with TOHO CO., LTD. and Production I.G—to mark its 1st anniversary, releasing the new ★5 character [The Valkyrie's Successor] Kikoru Shinomiya alongside the special event "Valkyrie of Aspiration."

In the special event "Valkyrie of Aspiration," Kikoru Shinomiya—selected as the compatible user of Numbers Weapon 4, the Defense Force's fastest weapon—takes center stage as the protagonist. Despite her immense potential, Kikoru struggles to draw out the suit's true power due to her high pride and hits a wall, barely making progress even during special training with Narumi.

Unable to find a breakthrough, Kikoru is swept into a sudden, mysterious Dimensional Gate and lands in a "similar yet different parallel world." While fighting against the threat of Kaiju in this unfamiliar world, she encounters an unexpected person and experiences a story of growth as she overcomes her limits.

By playing the special event "Valkyrie of Aspiration," players can earn over 1,500 Dimensional Crystals along with various in-game rewards, including an in-game Home background.

In particular, ★5 [The Valkyrie's Successor] Kikoru Shinomiya, who joins as a playable character starting on the 20th, equips Numbers Weapon 4—once worn by her mother Hikari Shinomiya—and her dedicated axe weapon "Ax-Freyja," capturing the overwhelming combat style of a Valkyrie soaring across the battlefield.
