The release date for the mobile version of MINTROCKET's 'DAVE THE DIVER,' currently available for pre-registration on the App Store and Google Play Store, was announced today (the 13rd).
MINTROCKET announced via its official YouTube channel that the mobile version of 'DAVE THE DIVER' will launch on September 17. In the video, CEO Hwang Jae-ho explained that the mobile version was first released in China this past February and has since been refined through consistent updates. He added that while they had previously aimed for an August release during the last 'Dev Dive' event, they decided to delay the launch to spend more time on development to ensure a better experience.
CEO Hwang highlighted that the core goal of the mobile version was to translate the experience enjoyed on PC and consoles to mobile as faithfully as possible. He explained that the game retains its original structure—exploring the sea by day and running a sushi restaurant by night—and includes all of the original content without exception.
However, because control schemes differ significantly between PC, console, and mobile, features tailored to mobile characteristics were added. These include control methods that leverage mobile device capabilities to make gameplay smoother and more immersive.
A prime example is the sushi restaurant management. While players can still tap the screen to pour tea for customers as they did previously, the mobile version allows players to tilt their phones to pour. This control scheme is also applied to certain cooking scenes, providing a more vivid experience that utilizes the unique features of mobile devices.

The mobile version also includes various convenience features designed for a touchscreen environment. Players can customize the position, size, and transparency of control buttons, and save different button layouts for diving and restaurant management. To ensure visibility on smaller screens, the underwater camera distance can also be adjusted; players can zoom in to see their character more clearly or zoom out to get a better view of the surrounding environment at a glance.
Movement has also been improved for the mobile environment. Since touchscreen controls can be more cumbersome than keyboards or controllers, a feature has been added to allow players to move directly to NPCs, making it easier to navigate the Sea People Village. NPC names are also visible on the mini-map, making it easier to find specific characters.
'DAVE THE DIVER' mobile is free to download, and a free trial is available before purchase. Players can unlock all game content with a one-time in-app purchase of $9.99 (approximately ₩14k). CEO Hwang emphasized that there are no additional microtransactions, paid skins, P2W elements, or advertisements.
DLCs are sold separately. The mobile version will launch with the 'Dredge' and 'DAVE THE DIVER: DREDGE' (In the Jungle) DLCs. The 'In the Jungle' DLC will be sold for $4.99 (approximately ₩7k), while the 'Dredge' DLC will be free. However, the 'Godzilla' and 'Like a Dragon' collaboration DLCs included in the PC and console versions will not be available on mobile. CEO Hwang explained that this is due to the scope of licensing agreements with partners.
Finally, CEO Hwang noted that there have been many requests from gamers worldwide to play the game in their native languages. Consequently, Thai, Polish, and Turkish will be added to all platforms, including PC and console, in addition to the mobile version.
'DAVE THE DIVER' has recorded cumulative global sales of 8 million units to date. Additionally, the paid 'In the Jungle' DLC holds an OpenCritic score of 91 and is currently ranked first in the 2026 Hall of Fame.
