Pearl Abyss officially launched the 'Edania Part 2' update on the 12nd, expanding the Asmodae region of its MMORPG Black Desert and further broadening the game's world-building.
The newly added 'Edania Part 2' is a core content expansion of 'Edania,' the Asmodae region of Black Desert that was first unveiled last August. Set within the 'inner' reaches of Edania—a realm inhabited by numerous gods such as Agris, Maktanan, and Elion—this update illustrates how the vast narrative threads of Black Desert converge. With these new additions, players can embark on a challenging adventure to prove their worth against powerful foes.
The 'Inner' region of Edania introduces six new hunting grounds: 'Agris' Realm - Aphrodon Temple,' 'Maktanan's Realm - Emesia Inner Castle,' 'Elion's Realm - Magaia Temple,' 'Aal's Realm - Aresion Front,' 'Elion's Realm - Scales of Judgment,' and 'Hadum's Realm - Event Horizon.' Among these, 'Elion's Realm - Scales of Judgment' is a party-exclusive hunting ground designed for three players, requiring a higher level of combat proficiency. Adventurers can obtain rare loot here, including 'Floating Origin Crystals,' 'Inix Sparks' for armor, and 'Aperon Earrings.
In terms of equipment, the addition of new accessories, 'Ecreta' and 'Aperon,' has broadened the scope for character growth. 'Ecreta' can be obtained by converting 'Karzard' accessories that have reached the PEN (IX) or HEX (X) enhancement levels, and it is enhanced by consuming 'Shards of Causality.' Conversely, 'Aperon' can be acquired through hunting grounds loot or the Central Market, and its enhancement level can be increased using the same type of accessory as a material. The 'Boss Rush' system has also been updated to include the bosses of the 'inner' Edania region. Players can now challenge four powerful bosses: Agris, Maktanan, Elion, and Aal. Successfully completing weekly requests grants the 'Token of Edana's Challenge,' which allows players to approach the 'Throne of Edana.' Adventurers who are reborn as 'Edana' will enjoy the same benefits as the existing Edania, including massive tax revenue and the crown.
New cosmetic items, the 'God-Slaying Armor' set, have also been added. Players can obtain these outfits by accepting missions in the 'Ancient Foresight' cave near the Shining Land and collecting 100 'Inix Sparks' for each piece (helmet, armor, gloves, and shoes). Additionally, the update introduces 'Floating Origin Crystals'—crafted by gathering 'Origin Fragments' in the 'Inner' region—as well as new buff consumables like 'Perfume of Verdure,' 'Elixir of Azure,' and 'Magihan's Relic.' New production nodes have also been activated, allowing players to gather materials such as 'Caphras Tree Sap' and 'Marble Ore.
During their exploration, adventurers will encounter hidden 'Tachyon Legacies,' and overcoming the associated trials rewards them with 'Agris Gold Coins.' These coins can be exchanged for useful items such as 'Cron Stones,' 'Neb's Fragments,' 'Advice of Valks (+250),' and the 'Dusk of Apocalypse' accessory. This major update follows the roadmap announced at the 'Heidel Ball' in July, and Pearl Abyss plans to maintain this momentum by introducing 'Hadum' bosses and new main quests in September.
