A wealth of content, reminiscent of a grand feast, was unveiled during today's (8/11) Aion 2 update preview broadcast. This major update serves as the second part of Chapter 1, which launched on July 1. It will introduce the new expedition Dungeon 'Encroached Deus Research Base' and the transcendence Dungeon 'Neoran's Hidden Legacy,' alongside comprehensive class care, tomorrow (8/12).
In line with the new Dungeon releases, Tier 6 Epic Accessories—'Azure Dragon/Dragon Slayer, Lava Heart'—and inheritance crafting recipes will be added. New Arcana dice and lantern slots will feature offensive options such as Perfect, Critical, Multi-hit, and Impact-type Accuracy, as well as defensive options like Regeneration, Iron Wall, Critical Resistance, and Impact-type Resistance.
The classes receiving care in this update are the Brawler, Gladiator, Cleric, and Chanter. The Brawler will see improvements to stability and convenience in the early-game low-performance phase. For the Gladiator, the main Skill cycle is being improved to reduce performance gaps across different combat environments, and the PvE damage of key offensive Skills will be increased by 3%.
For the Cleric and Chanter, HP recovery and healing amplification Stats are being readjusted. Base recovery and recovery values proportional to maximum HP are being tuned, and the system is being changed so that healing amplification increases based on Attack. Regarding this, NC added, "While the floor may be lower in segments with lower combat power, players will see greater effects as their specs increase. We expect this to further strengthen the Cleric's recovery capabilities and supplement the Chanter's insufficient healing output."
Additionally, a major initiative to strengthen the concepts and unique characteristics of each class was announced. NC stated, "We will not completely eliminate the damage dealing method that relies on Skill Macros," but added, "We are improving the structure so that manually using other Skills at the right moments between Macro activations will increase DPS." The goal is to enhance overall control feel and bring out the unique playstyle and flair of each class. These class concept enhancements are scheduled to be rolled out sequentially starting August 26.
'Housing' was announced as the first life-content feature, with 'Sailing' to be updated thereafter. Regarding rumors of group content such as Legion PVP and Legion-exclusive crafting, the developers firmly stated, "Those are just rumors; there are no such plans." They also revealed that the second new class has finished the concept phase and is currently undergoing modeling and Skill configuration.
Finally, they announced that the new Raid content 'Sanctuary - Snowy Plains of Lament,' the final segment of Chapter 1, will be released in early September.
