It has been confirmed that Geoff Keighley, the founder and host of The Game Awards, visited South Korea this week.

According to reports gathered on the 30th, Keighley visited eight domestic game companies starting on the 27th, including Pearl Abyss, Nexon, NEOWIZ, and KRAFTON, to hold meetings with company officials. The specific purpose of his visits and the details of the discussions at each company have not been disclosed.

Keighley is a game media personality and event producer who founded, hosts, and produces the global awards show The Game Awards. In addition, he leads the annual Summer Game Fest and produces and hosts Opening Night Live (ONL), the pre-show event for Gamescom, Germany's largest gaming trade fair.

INVEN reached out to Keighley to confirm his visit to the local game companies, inquire about its purpose, and ask for his thoughts on meeting with Korean developers, but he declined to comment, stating he had "no comments to share at this time."

Meanwhile, the 2026 Gamescom ONL is scheduled to take place in about a month, on August 25 (local time). As the event is known for world premieres and new game announcements, attention is focused on whether Keighley's visit to these Korean developers might be linked to future ONL submissions or other global events.
