Game sound specialist Changjo Gongjakso announced on July 28 that it is hosting the '1st AI Game Sound Design Challenge with GXG 2026 (AI GSDC).'
The event is hosted by Changjo Gongjakso, co-organized by AI platform developer Audia and indie musician platform Likers, and sponsored by GXG 2026, Com2uS Platform, Microsoft, Morisawa, and the Korea Mobile Game Association.
'AI GSDC' is a creative competition where participants use the game sound design platform Gamesound.ai to design new sound for official videos provided by game companies. Participants select their preferred video among the released game videos and complete their work by creating new background music (BGM), sound effects (SFX), and voiceovers (VOICE).
Twelve game companies are participating as video sponsors for the competition, including Com2uS, HAEGIN, AK Interactive, NDREAM, Blue Potion Games, Storytaco, Tripearl Games, Dreamotion, Red Zinko Games, Hypercent, BirdLetter, and UBIS. Based on the videos provided by each game developer, participants will showcase their sound design skills by reinterpreting game scenes and atmospheres in their own ways through music, sound effects, and voiceovers.

Recruitment for competition participants has been underway since July 24. Participants can enter individually or as a team of up to five people. Using Gamesound.ai, participants must create all sound—including BGM, sound effects, and voiceovers—from scratch for the provided game video and submit the finished video and project files by 11:59 PM on August 23.
The preliminary round will run from August 24 to 25 through evaluations by professional judges, and the Top 10 finalists will be announced on August 26. The final winners will be decided by combining web voting and expert judge evaluations at 50% each, with the final announcement and award ceremony taking place on September 12 on the main stage of GXG 2026 (Pangyo Station Plaza).
The competition offers prize money and benefits worth over 17.45 million won in total, including cash and physical prizes. One Gold Award team will receive 3 million won in cash, one Silver Award (Hive Award) team will receive 1 million won in cash, and two Bronze Award teams will receive 500,000 won in cash each. Various secondary prizes and benefits will also be provided, such as Gamesound.ai Ultra passes, Hive credits, Xbox Series S, and Nintendo Switch 2.
Gamesound.ai, which will be used in the competition, is a game sound production platform featuring a sound library of approximately 20,000 assets, AI-based BGM, SFX, and voice generation, AI music search, multitrack audio editing, middleware integration, and project management capabilities. It supports the entire process from sound search to generation, editing, and management on a single platform.
Co-organizer Likers is an integrated D2F fandom platform that connects artists, fan communities, performances, commerce, and spaces into one. Within a service bridging online and offline spaces, fans and artists can communicate and continue sharing diverse experiences.
Competition applications and further details can be found on the official AI GSDC website on Likers (Likers.me).
