According to a report by ESPN, Blizzard has recently secured six high-profile agreements from major organizations regarding their participation in the Overwatch League. These agreements come from owners of sports franchises including the Patriots and the Mets as well as traditional esports organizations, NRG and Immortals. San Francisco, Los Angeles, New York, Boston, Shanghai and Seoul, South Korea are the first six locations that Overwatch League teams will reside.

Per the report, Immortals will represent Los Angeles while NRG Esports will be based in San Francisco. The Patriots owner, Robert Kraft, will have his Overwatch team based in Boston while New York Mets owner, Fred Wilpon, is staying in New York. At this time, there is still no word on which organizations have secured the Shanghai or Seoul spot.

This is a big win for the Overwatch League, as it was circulating previously that organizations were being turned off by the whopping $20 million price tag associated with the participating in the league. In addition, several other parts of the agreement are skewed in Blizzard's favor, including no guarantee of teams revenue sharing until after the year 2021 and 25 percent of any sale of a team to a third party going directly to the league.

Despite these concerns, these six early adopters are putting the doubts to rest with the public commitment. This news comes after the Overwatch League's announcement of their official scouting report and is just another sign of the leagues prestige and serious esports potential.
