SHIFT UP has officially unveiled 'Stellar Blade: Blood Rain,' the direct sequel to its action game 'Stellar Blade,' at Summer Game Fest 2026 (SGF 2026).

The trailer, released on the 6th (KST), opens with a steam locomotive running through rain-slicked city streets. The peaceful atmosphere is short-lived, however, as citizens transform into monsters, leading into intense combat sequences featuring the protagonist.

Unlike the original protagonist, Eve, who focused on sword-based combat, the character in this trailer primarily utilizes gauntlet-based brawling. Toward the end of the trailer, the character is also seen wielding what appears to be a reverse-grip blade. SHIFT UP confirmed via its official YouTube channel that this character is the new protagonist, 'Evie.'

'Stellar Blade: Blood Rain' is a direct sequel that continues the story from the ending of the first game; an exact release date has not yet been announced. Unlike the original, which was released as a PS5 exclusive under Sony's publishing, SHIFT UP is shifting to self-publishing for this sequel. Given the strong PC sales of the original and the move toward independent publishing, industry speculation suggests a potential simultaneous multi-platform release across PS5, PC, and Xbox.

Kim Hyung-tae, General Director of 'Stellar Blade: Blood Rain,' stated, "I am thrilled to finally present the next chapter of Stellar Blade to the fans who loved the original. Although we are still in the early stages of development, we are focusing our efforts on evolving the stylish action, world-building, and core elements that fans loved to deliver a brand-new experience."
