NEXUS announced on the 5th that it has officially begun the closed beta test (CBT) for 'Frost Kingdom,' its first self-published title. The test will run until June 10.
Global users can participate freely by downloading the mobile app from the pre-registration page or by accessing the game via PC. Notably, the PC version is built using HTML5, allowing users to play immediately without installing any additional programs, significantly enhancing accessibility.
This CBT features a payment system identical to the actual live environment. In particular, it marks the debut of 'Cross Game Hub,' a web shop platform developed in-house by NEXUS, introducing users to an AI-based web shop and payment infrastructure.
All payments made by participants during the test period will be fully refunded as 'Red Diamonds,' an in-game currency, after the official launch. This initiative reflects NEXUS' intent to minimize the financial burden on participants while gathering precise economic data from a real-world payment environment.
Furthermore, a variety of user engagement programs leveraging the full-stack ecosystem of Cross will be held. Users can earn 'Cross Tokens' by successfully completing missions linked to 'Cross Wave,' a streamer platform, and uploading related content. Additionally, a 'Guild Power Ranking' event will be held, where the top 20 guilds will be selected to receive a total of 14600 Cross Tokens.
Frost Kingdom is a medieval-themed strategy simulator game that claims to be the world's first Web3 SLG, combining traditional SLG structures with merge mechanics. It offers a wealth of content, including over 100 diverse units, a four-grade hero collection and growth system, and a guild system.
Jang Hyun-guk, CEO of NEXUS, stated that SLG is the genre best suited for game tokenomics due to its complex economic structure involving resource production, exchange, and consumption. He added that this CBT will serve as a crucial opportunity to further refine the quality of Frost Kingdom and expand the company's successful genres on the Cross platform from MMORPGs to include SLGs.
