The Korea e-Sports Association (KeSPA) announced that it will host the South Korean national esports team qualifiers for the '2026 Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games' at the Busan Esports Arena on November 9–10.
This event is the official qualifier held following Busan Metropolitan City's selection as the partner city for the Asian Games national esports team. Top-tier domestic players and teams that meet the preliminary requirements will compete for a spot on the national team. The association aims to build on its success from the 2022 Hangzhou Asian Games, where it secured medals in all contested events.
The four qualifying titles are: #1 Puyo Puyo Champions, #2 Honor of Kings, #3 Identity V, and #4 Pokémon UNITE. Puyo Puyo Champions will be an individual event, while Honor of Kings and Pokémon UNITE will feature team-based finals. Identity V will determine its final winning team through group stages and a final match.
The schedule features Honor of Kings and Pokémon UNITE matches on Saturday, the 9th, followed by Identity V and Puyo Puyo Champions on Sunday, the 10th. All matches will be broadcast live via the official YouTube channels of KeSPA and the Busan Esports Arena. The commentary team includes casters Oh Sung-kyun and Park Han-eol, along with popular creators Shiro and Kim Hyo-jong.
Lucky draws and interactive events will be held for spectators both on-site and online. KeSPA President Kim Young-man stated that the association will strengthen its support in cooperation with partner city Busan to ensure that players can continue to uphold South Korea's prestige on the international stage.
Further details regarding the national esports team qualifiers can be found on the official KeSPA website and social media channels.
