The urban game culture festival 'GXG 2026 (Game culture X Generation 2026)', hosted by Seongnam City and organized by the Seongnam Industry Promotion Agency and the Game Culture Foundation, will be held across the Pangyo Station Square area for two days from September 11 to 12.
Marking its fourth year, GXG 2026 will feature a complex gaming culture event combining stage performances, exhibitions, hands-on activities, lectures, and networking under the slogan 'Games, Enjoyed as Culture!' Last year's GXG 2025 drew approximately 38,000 visitors, establishing itself as the country's largest urban game culture festival.
Recruitment for the festival's core program, game music competition 'The 3rd GXG SOUND TRACK', will begin in early June. Open to anyone who loves games and music regardless of genre, the contest has generated buzz every year with original compositions and performances.
Byung-Han Yoo, Chairman of the Game Culture Foundation, stated that building on four years of accumulated know-how, they are raising the polish of each program to prepare fresh and rich entertainment, expressing hope that it will be a time for citizens to discover the cultural appeal of games.
