Unity has announced the launch of the Unity AI open beta, now available to all developers using Unity 6 or later.
Unity AI is built directly into the editor and operates based on the actual context of game development—from project structure and systems to the creative iterations that shape the player experience. This allows creators to reduce time spent on repetitive workflows and dedicate more time to building and refining the core elements that make a great game.

Additionally, developers can securely connect and control their preferred AI tools directly within the editor via the AI Gateway (link). These tools can also be utilized in an Integrated Development Environment (IDE) through the Model Context Protocol (MCP) server.
While developers remain in control of their creative direction, Unity AI enables them to experiment more, make better decisions, and turn ideas into playable results faster.
■ AI Agents That Understand Games: The in-editor agents are tuned for Unity-specific workflows and operate based on project context. This leads to more relevant answers, better task execution, and fewer retries.
■ Bringing Assets to Life in Unity: Unity AI supports the conversion of designs, images, and visual references into project-ready assets and playable scenes.
■ Powerful Control Through Enhanced Integration: Changes can be reverted at any time, and AI-generated assets can be tagged for easier review. Furthermore, permission settings allow developers to control the level of agent autonomy.
The Unity AI open beta launch trailer is available on the official YouTube channel, and a full overview of key features and benefits can be found on the Unity discussion page.
You can join the open beta on the official product page.
